The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) approves an earlier release of the year-end bonus and cash gift for qualified government employees.
The agency issued Budget Circular No. 2024-3 dated October 22 titled, “Amending Section 6.1 of Budget Circular No. 2016-4 on Payment of Year-End Bonus and Cash Gift.", which says the year-end bonus of government employees equivalent to one month basic pay as of Oct. 31 and cash gift of PHP5,000 may be released "simultaneously with the first agency payroll for the month of November of the current year” subject to conditions.
DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said this is due to the observation that “government personnel continue to experience delays in receiving bonuses and cash gifts, affecting their morale, motivation, and level of job satisfaction.”
In previous years, the year-end bonus and cash gift is given to qualified government employees not earlier than November 15.
