Malacañang suspends government work and classes at all levels in the Bicol Region on Thursday (Oct. 24, 2024) due to Severe Tropical Storm #KristinePH. 

Bicol Region is among the hardest hit areas of Kristine, which intensified into a severe tropical storm on Wednesday afternoon.

However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services, the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) said in a statement.

The suspension of work for private companies and offices, meanwhile, is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

The NDRRMC, OCD, and other relevant agencies are continuously monitoring the situation in other regions and will recommend further suspensions, as needed, the OES added. | Darryl John Esguerra
