Walang Pasok: Several schools canceled classes on Tuesday, February 25, EDSA anniversary

Certain schools canceled classes on Tuesday, February 25, in observance of the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration had earlier reclassified February 25 this year as a special working day.

Here are the schools without classes on Tuesday:

• Adamson University
• Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan Parochial Schools (all schools in the system)
• De La Salle Philippines (all schools in the system)
• General de Jesus College
• Immaculate Conception Academy Greenhills
• Imus Institute
• Saint Pedro Poveda College
• St. Bridget College Batangas City
• St. Joseph’s College (Quezon City and Rodriguez)
• St. Scholastica’s Academy Pampanga
• University of Santo Tomas
• University of the East (Manila and Caloocan)
• Xavier School San Juan

The People Power Revolution, also known as the EDSA Revolution or the February Revolution, were a series of popular demonstrations in the Philippines, mostly in Metro Manila, from February 22 to 25, 1986. There was a sustained campaign of civil resistance against regime violence and electoral fraud. The nonviolent revolution led to the departure of Ferdinand Marcos, the end of his 20-year dictatorship and the restoration of democracy in the Philippines.
